One way of preparing is my upskilling Google Classroom to make it more interactive and student-paced as well as live lessons. I am learning integration with nearpod and flip grid, and differentiation with google form quizzes that direct students to different sections depending on their responses.; and creating learning menus and choice boards for student choice of how to access new content and free choice reading. Secondly,we are contracting with solvedconsulting.com to generate the various schedules the state is requiring for blended and remote, and their customized apps for communication with family, school news, data dashboard, etc..
I did the Modern Classrooms Essentials program to learn how to craft units to be self-paced and mastery-graded, centered around short videos and practice activities I create. Can't recommend it highly enough.
I agree! They have updated the free program to include suggestions for distance learning. I participated in the free course, and keep going back to it for refreshers and ideas.
The reviews from my daughters' who both are professionals outside of education have stated to me...Keep it Simple with Platforms they have at their fingertips. One daughter has 5 children with one smartphone and 2 LeapPads as the teachers were asking for so much to be turned back in.
Remember our community are not experienced teachers but lovers of their children.
Training, Training and more training.
