Zoom and Flipgrid are virtual tools I commonly use for blended learning. Zoom is my "go to" because it's so widely used, and most participants know how to use its features. Using Zoom avoids time lost teaching kids how to use the features of unfamiliar virtual platform each time we connect. Secondly, Flipgrid is useful for managing the content of your lessons. The slides and video camera in Flipgrid are easy to use. Flipgrid allows the students/participants to be interactive.
I also really enjoy Flipgrid. I used it with 2nd grade and would also post teaching videos on daily boards. I linked the video boards to our classroom website. I am not sure how I will be using it in the fall yet, depending on their new guidelines, but one thing that I would hope for is get more students involved and comfortable with sharing on it. Unfortunately, some students never accessed without parent help.
